About Language Teaching
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and
spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.
- Ephesians 5:19
Elementary
Level:Learn phonetic systems, characters and words,
learn to make sentences and learn to read text with phonetic labels.
Little children should first learn
phonetic notations, words and characters of daily meanings, then they may go
on to learn how to make sentences, later to read simple text. Teaching can be
made more interesting and efficient by the use of flash cards, games,
rhymes and songs. In the evening, they can recite Bible memory verses and sing
songs, or play games together, or be told good stories by the teachers.
Intermediate Level:Learn
to use dictionary, learn to read on their own, and basic writings.
When children grow older, they should learn to use dictionary, and learn to read on their own, later learn basic writings too. In the class, teacher can recite some well-selected short text with full feelings, point out for the students those places that he thinks very beautiful or strong and why. Afterwards, assign the children to write something of their own. In the next class, the teacher can encourage the students to read aloud their own writings, and guide the whole class to discuss and give his advice for improvement. In the evening, children can read Bible together, and also read some good stories that suit their age and understanding.
Advanced Level:Learn to read with ease and write with interest, learn to appreciate the beauty of language.
As the children's understanding and intelligence mature, they
can read longer and deeper readings, and they should continue trainings in
expressing thought and idea. In the evening, they can read Bible together, and read books that
can benefit both the spirit and the language, such as the books of the Spirit of
Prophecy etc.
