In the Days of Darkness
In the days of darkness
there were no friends like Jesus.
When my parents forsook me because of my mistakes
When my friends turn away faces for my foolishness
Jesus was still there by my side,
though He more than anyone knew my weakness.
Like a scuptor knows the stone in his hands,
He knows all my possibilities.
He guided me with His lovingkindness,
He taught me in His wisdom patiently.
He would not give up nor leave,
until He has made me into a beautiful work of arts,
a work imparted with His love and goodness,
a work that can sing in harmony with all His creations.
Oh Lord, thy lovingkindness endureth forever,
thy faithfulness never faileth.
May I not forget to love others as you have loved me,
May all the Lord's ransomed love Him with all their hearts.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
